In 1999 we had a baby. He's terribly cute, I have to say, but tradition has it that when the baby arrives, sleep departs. Happily, we have, so far, had no trouble sleeping at night. Alex quietly wakes up every 3-4 hours, has a feed, and goes back to sleep again. Of course he's only 10 days old as I write this, so it's early days yet, but the prospects seem good.
Forget everything I said. You do lose sleep when you have a baby. Caveat pater!
Give it a few months of "controlled crying" and he'll sleep fine, but you have to be strict while he's learning. The amazing thing is that the parental exhaustion does in fact end.
He's a toddler now. Totally different kettle of fish.
Jeez, he's moved beyond toddlerhood and is now... a person!
Aiee! Now he's a schoolboy! Where will this all end?
